A home for contemplative practice in the Gallatin Valley

About the Center

A mahasangha rooted in the Gallatin Valley since 1998.

Our model

The Bozeman Dharma Center is a mahasangha — a home for multiple Buddhist sanghas and contemplative communities under one roof. We don't promote a single tradition. We provide the physical and organizational space so each sangha can flourish on its own terms while being part of something larger.

Our values

  • Dana-based. Teachings and practice are offered freely. Those who benefit support the center as they can.
  • Diverse. We hold Theravada, Zen, Tibetan, Recovery Dharma, and secular mindfulness practice under one roof.
  • Hybrid. Most sittings join people in the zendo with practitioners on Zoom.
  • Volunteer-run. The center is sustained by sangha members who answer email, set up cushions, and keep the lights on.

Becoming a 501(c)(3)

We are a Montana non-profit corporation. Annual reports, bylaws, and financial documents are available on request.
